Silver Vacuum Distillation Furnace

Product Description

This lead-silver vacuum distillation furnace is a specialized vacuum metallurgical system designed to enrich silver and precious metals from lead-bearing feedstocks. Under vacuum and high temperature, lead is selectively volatilized while silver, gold, and other PMs concentrate in the residual molten phase – delivering high-grade intermediate products for downstream refining.

Process Note: Under vacuum high-temperature conditions (850℃ – 2600℃), lead selectively volatilizes, while silver, gold, and precious metals remain enriched in the molten residue. The entire reaction takes place inside the vacuum-sealed hearth, achieving zero off-gas emission and zero metal loss – fully compliant with the most stringent environmental standards for modern smelters.

Downstream Process Routes

Vacuum distillation outputs can feed into two well-established refining routes:

Route 1: Silver Electrolysis

Feed requirement: crude silver ≥ 99% Ag

① Silver electrolysis → produces refined silver ≥ 99.9995%

② Silver anode slime treatment → recovers crude gold

Route 2: Silver Cupellation

Applicable when impurities ≥ 1.5% or Ag ≤ 95%

① Cupellation → removes Pb, Cu, Zn, Ni and other base metals

② Silver electrolysis → yields refined silver ≥ 99.9995%

③ Anode slime processing → produces crude gold

This furnace serves as a front-end enrichment unit for existing smelting lines. It is widely deployed in copper anode-slime treatment, lead-zinc smelter by-product recovery, and e-waste precious-metal recycling projects. We offer project-oriented customization based on your feed composition and capacity requirements.

FAQs

Q:What feed materials can this furnace handle?

A: It accepts lead-silver alloy and crude lead with silver content ≥ 0.1%.

Q: What products are obtained after vacuum distillation?

A: Crude silver, lead-silver alloy, and doré alloy. Further electrolysis or cupellation yields high-purity silver and crude gold.

Q: What is the power consumption?

A: Peak is 200 kW; normal steady-state operation draws 70 – 120 kW.

Q: Does the process generate off-gas or cause metal loss?

A: No. The vacuum-sealed hearth ensures zero off-gas emission and zero metal loss – fully environmentally friendly.

Q: Do I need to buy both electrolysis and cupellation equipment?

A: Not necessarily. Choose the route that matches your distillation output quality. Cupellation is recommended when impurities ≥ 1.5% or Ag ≤ 95%.

Q: Can you customize capacity for my plant

A: Yes. We provide EPC consultancy and equipment customization based on your feed composition and daily throughput.
