Brass Vacuum Distillation Furnace

The Brass Vacuum Distillation Furnace, also referred to as the Copper-Zinc Alloy Vacuum Distillation Furnace (Cu-Zn VDF), is a cutting-edge system that combines smelting and vacuum distillation processes to effectively separate copper-zinc alloy components.

Key Functionality and Features

  1. Integrated Processes: This innovative furnace integrates both smelting and vacuum distillation, optimizing the purification of copper-zinc alloys.
  2. Volatilization and Condensation: The system leverages the unique volatilization and condensation properties of different metals. By manipulating these properties, it efficiently separates zinc from zinc-copper alloys.
  3. Vacuum Conditions: The furnace operates under vacuum conditions, which allows for the exploitation of variations in saturated vapor pressure. This results in the selective evaporation of zinc, facilitating its separation from the alloy.

Features

  1. High Purity: The process ensures a high level of purity in the separated metals, making it suitable for various applications in the precious metals industry.
  2. Efficiency: By utilizing vacuum technology, the furnace enhances the efficiency of the separation process, reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
  3. Versatility: The Brass Vacuum Distillation Furnace is adaptable for different sizes and compositions of copper-zinc alloys, making it a valuable tool for recycling and refining operations.

Cu-Zn VDF configuration

Developed by Darnal Group China, the Cu-Zn VDF comprises the following key components:

Key sub-system of Cu-Zn VDF

1.

Main vacuum furnace chamber

2.

Electrical control system

3.

Vacuum pumping system

4.

Protective gas system

5.

Principle of Vacuum Distillation:
This process takes advantage of zinc's relatively low boiling point (907°C). Under vacuum conditions, zinc vaporizes, rises rapidly, and contacts the condenser, where it re-condenses into liquid metallic zinc. This liquid is then collected in a special designed collector.
